Here’s what happened since yesterday’s email:
Para Athletics - Dani Aitchison - T36 200m Sprint
Dani won SILVER in the T36 200m Sprint, just milliseconds behind China’s Yiting Shi. This is the 2nd medal for New Zealand at the 2024 Paris Paralympics, and Dani’s 3rd Paralympic medal of her career.
Para Cycling Track - Nicole Murray - C5 3000m Individual Pursuit
Nicole won BRONZE in the C5 3000m Individual Pursuit with a (new NZ record) time of 3:36.206! At the 2021 Tokyo Paralympics, Nicole finished 4th in this race, narrowly missing out on a medal - massive congrats to her on claiming her 1st Paralympic medal, and NZ’s 3rd medal of the 2024 Paris Paralympics!
Shooting Para Sport - Neelam O'Neill - R3 Mixed 10m Air Rifle Prone SH1
Neelam scored 629.9pts in the Air Rifle, just short of the score needed to advance to the final, and placing her in 21st place overall. This ends her Paralympic journey.
