Paralympics Update: Saturday, September 7

Tonight is the last night of the 2024 Paralympics!

Here’s what happened since yesterday’s email:

• Para Cycling Road - Nicole Murray - C4-5 Road Race

  • Nicole had to withdraw from this race due to illness. This ends her Paralympic journey; she goes home with a bronze medal in the C5 3000m Individual Pursuit.

• Para Athletics - Anna Grimaldi - T47 Long Jump

  • Anna finished in 4th place in the long jump, just 1cm short of a podium finish. The event was highly competitive, with the winner jumping to a new Paralympic record, and the silver and bronze medalists both jumping personal bests. Anna will compete on Saturday night in the T47 200m Sprint.

• Para Athletics - Holly Robinson - F46 Javelin

  • Holly threw a (season’s best!) 39.03m, finishing in 6th place. This ends her Paralympic journey.

• 7:40pm - Para Swimming

  • Gabriella Smith - 200m Individual Medley SM10 (Heats)

    *3:38am - Final

• 10:40pm - Para Athletics

  • Anna Grimaldi - T47 200m Sprint (Heats)

    *5:43am - Final
